Deccan Education Society, DES, is based at Pune, Maharashtra, and has institutes in various towns and cities.

The DES is managed by a Council that comprises of about thirty to forty Council Members. Among these half of the members are Life Members who are teachers serving in the institutes of the Society, and the remaining half are Elected Members, who are elected for a period of five years from amongst the Fellows and Patrons of the DES. Any person of organization can become a Fellow or Patron of the DES by donating a certain minimum amount to the Society and subject to the acceptance of the application by the Council of DES.

The Governing Body of DES is the highest decision making authority and it comprises of Council Members – three Life Members and three Elected Members. In addition, there is a Chairman and a Vice-Chairman of the Governing Body, both being Elected Members of the Council.

There is a Body of Life Members, comprising of all the Life Members of DES which decides the course of direction of the Society. At each of the major centres of DES viz. Pune, Mumbai and Sangli there are Board of Life Members who manage the routine affairs of the institutes in their region. Apart from this each institute, school, college has its managing committee. All the instiutes have their statutory committees such as Internal Complaints Committee, Anti-ragging Committee etc. as may be applicable. The management of DES is assisted by committees like Finance Committee, Estate Committee, Legal Committee, HR Committee, Project Evaluation Committee, IT Committee etc.
