Deccan Education Society was started during the British rule, in 1884, with the idea of providing education to rouse the intellect, dropping will and slumbering conscience of the fallen countrymen. It was designed to generate leadership for industrial regeneration of a self-governing nation.
The objects of the Society have been to facilitate affordable education by starting, incorporating or affiliating, at different places, as circumstances permit, Schools and Colleges under private management or by any other ways best adapted to the wants of the people.
